Death of Club Member John Skinner

We are sad to notify members of the death of John Skinner who passed away peacefully on Tuesday 30th June 2009.

He was joint owner of Hunter Minstrel - Louise and used his boat right up to last season.

Our thoughts are with his family and his sailing companion Ed Lowery.

Update on SYC's Cadet Member Flora Stewart

Following the three 420 selectors at Weymouth, Largs and Chew Valley,
Anna Burnet and Flora Stewart (Solway Y.C) have been selected for the Great Britain team at the 420 Ladies Worlds at Lake Garada, Italy and also for the Great Britain team at the 420 Junior Europeans at Lake Balaton, Hungary.

Despite spending 6 weeks sailing abroad this summer she is delighted that she will still be able to compete in our SYC Cadet and Kippford Weeks. She intends to take a break from the 420 and try a Laser.
